Anthony Healy is a classically schooled fine artist, talented illustrator and professional photographer whose ability to capture the essence of form through light and detail result in intimate wildlife portraits and evocative landscapes. Tony’s years as a fine artist and medical illustrator honed his outstanding eye for detail and provided him with a thorough understanding of anatomy. His photography uses these skills to advantage.
Whether he’s capturing a spirited child’s portrait or an endangered raptor catching his prey, Tony captures action in natural settings.
Perhaps best known for his award-winning bird photography, his limited edition fine art prints include whimsical group interactions and intense, soulful portraits of raptors and endangered species. Tony’s thoughtful images narrate the lives of plants, animals and the environment, giving a voice to the natural world.
The wild beauty of the desert Southwest, secret waterfalls of the Northeast and fragile expanse of the Florida Everglades are the canvas for Tony’s landscape artistry. His mastery of light and shadow lend dimension to his work and reveal the hidden nature of his subjects.
As a conservation advocate, Tony, through the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, has become a Master Wildlife Conservationist.
He is active with the following conservation organizations:
National Wildlife Federation, National and CT State Audubon, National Parks Conservation Association, The Nature Conservancy, The Wilderness Society, World Wildlife Fund, CT DEP
